Dec. 2009 - Derrick Allen's band Southern Junction is selected to perform a showcase at The Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, PA. FEB. 19
Dec. 2009 - Derrick is told he will be playing the Ohio State Fair in June 2010.
Oct. 20, 2009 - Derrick Allen releases debut CD featuring some of Nashville's finest; including; Mark Easterling, Philip Wolfe, Tom D'Angelo, Rudy Miller, Rusty Danmeyer, and Brian Arrowood.
BIOGRAPHY
Derrick Allen began singing in church and around campfires when just a young boy in Pendleton, Ky. when friends encouraged him to start playing professionally.
After playing country and rock covers in Open Frame for almost 2yrs with guitarist and friend Tom Utz, Derrick decided to leave the band and start working on his own original material.
Derrick began posting songs on myspace and gained a legion of fans before catching the attention of Bob Lung at Broad Horizon Records, Inc. in early 2009.
They recorded Derrick's debut CD in Nashville with some of country's best studio musicians and released the disc on Oct. 20, 2009.
