Heather Ireland

Overview: I'm honest and real, just as my music is. There are no other words to describe it. I take my music very seriously although you couldn't tell by the permanent smile that is imprinted in my face. I love writing music...I love dancing to music...I love playing music....bottom line- I LOVE MUSIC!!! First and foremost, I am a songwriter. It's a natural, God- given talent that I exercise daily. I love the stage...I love standing in front of a crowd and wearing my emotions, thoughts and feelings on my sleeve for everyone to witness. I would consider my songs to be more along the lines of traditional country, but when I perform, I have that rock star stage presence and pride myself on doing the songs that most bands wouldn't attempt to cover. I feel I have a lot to offer and just want the opportunity to share my talents with the world.

  BIOGRAPHY
I started out singing at the young age of 3...before I could even say a full sentence. At the age of 12, I wrote my first lyric and by the age of 14, I realized the words on my pages were quite lonely and unfinished, so I decided to learn to play guitar to give my words some company (the music). It's all been uphill from there...lol. I've competed in numerous karaoke competitions where I always placed 2nd or 3rd, but karaoke just didn't do it for me. I longed to have the driving force of a live band behind me, so that I could change things up a bit and do things "my" way. So in early 2009, I formed a band, Heather Ireland & Poplar Road. Music is a part of me...who I am...what I stand for. You can learn a lot about me just by listening to my songs and reading my lyrics. My music is an extension of me...the love I've shared, the pain I've felt, the ups and down and ins and outs of my life....and people relate to it and that's what drives me to do what I do.

I love the stage with all that I am, but I will be the first to admit that I am a writer above and beyond all. It's a natural, God- given talent that I plan to take as far as I possibly can. Music = Life for me! I was once asked..."if there were no such thing as music, what would you do?" My reply, "Invent it."
