Born in Houston, Texas, Lorrie Anne Matthews is a singer-songwriter, actress and comedian. Summers were spent in Detroit with her grandmother, a country music lover who introduced her to Dolly Parton, George Jones and Charley Pride. At age five she asked for a guitar so she could play along with her favorite artist. Matthews moved to Athens to attend the University of Georgia and graduated with a Consumer Journalism degree.
Her first time in a recording studio was by chance.
While working as a marketing executive, a client who liked her speaking voice, requested her for their radio commercials.
The campaign was a success and led to jingle singing, theater work, appearances in feature films and a guest hosting gig on a country lifestyle themed program. With life experiences she wanted to write about along with the desire to perform original music she connected with her college friends, producers Owens-Hall and Baselici. Together, on a farm in North Georgia, they wrote material and went into the studio. She is currently working on her debut EP titled LA LA LAND.
