  BIOGRAPHY
Formed in 1971 in South Florida. First public performance in 1998 in Macon, GA. In 2007 the band completed recording its first album at Muscadine Studios (http://www.paulhornsby.com) in Macon, GA for the Atlanta based Surf’s Up indie label “A Time In the Spotlight” that is now available for purchase at CD Baby. The last few years have seen several changes in the HSB line-up. Original members Clifford “Curry” Cooper, Tommy “the G” Gilmore and John Dennis Hoffman have stepped back from any active involvement in the band. Gilmore’s retirement was necessitated by a serious health problem from which he continues to recover. The Gilmore family, though, is ably represented on the new CD by sister Jemi Blue’s lyrical contribution and co-writing credit on the new album’s title track. Guitarist B. Keith Williams, drummer Billy Ray Rivers and keyboardist Dwayne Boswell have joined lead vocalist Miami Dan Yoe and his son, bassist Patrick Yoe to round out the revamped line-up. Legendary southern rocker and current day proprietor of Macon’s Muscadine Recording Studio, Paul Hornsby, has engineered all of our sessions, lent his keyboard talents to some of our tracks, and helped us enormously with his production suggestions. The band has just completed the recording of its second album, “Star of the Beach” which is slated for early December release. Guest artists on the “Star” sessions have included original Beach Boy David Marks, Probyn Gregory (Brian Wilson Band, The Now People), Chris Hicks (Marshall Tucker Band, Outlaws, Toy Caldwell Band) and Tommy Talton (Cowboy, Gregg Allman Band, Capricorn Rhythm Section). We can’t thank these talented musicians enough for appearing on our CD.
