Overview: Fresh from the mountains of North Carolina, singer and songwriter Hoss Howard is making waves from Nashville to New York. Inspired by a promise made to his late mother, Hoss has completed his debut album, “Country On Octane,”. Hoss released his first single to radio in the summer of 2008. “It is… Country on Octane!” Twang Thang reached number one on the World Indie Charts December 2008.

Hoss was born in north central Arkansas and lived his young life working with his brother on their family’s dairy farm. Even as a child, Hoss loved to sing. Music has been a part of his life ever since he can remember. Writing his first song when he was a child, Hoss would often entertain the family while just sitting around the farm. When there wasn’t anyone around to listen, he would sing for himself.
Moving to a St. Louis suburb as a young teen, Hoss developed his natural competitiveness on the basketball court. His nature is to win, in any situation. “I learn more from my failures than anything else,” Hoss admits. Jokingly he adds, “But, I can’t stand to lose. Not even at marbles. I think that is what gives me an edge.”
After serving our Nation in the first Gulf War, Hoss returned to his roots and to his music. He began playing and singing throughout Arkansas and even settled in Nashville for a short time. It was in Nashville that Hoss met his wife, Tinker. His “rock” as he often refers to her, along with his children, are what Hoss considers his greatest success. “Family is it!” he says. “You can be anything you want in life and be good at it. But having the support and love of your family is the ONLY true way to be a success.” It is that love and support from family that inspired Hoss to share his music with the world.
While caring for his ailing mother, Hoss’s wife made a promise to her on her death bed to push him into a music career. His mother knew, that music was truly where he belonged. A short time after his mother’s death, Tinker sent some of his music to Nashville. It wasn’t long before Hoss was catching the attention of music producers. With a lot of hard work and dedication, some inspiration from above and the support of his family and friends, the world was introduced to ……
