Raised in the majority African American Prince George’s County, Maryland, Chuck was heavily exposed to hip hop music as a youngster. He looked up to artists such as The Notorious B.I.G., LL Cool J, A Tribe Called Quest, and Nas, taking from them a love for wordplay, storytelling, and the mechanics of rhyme delivery. The county Chuck was raised in is also known to be the wealthiest majority African American county in the nation, where many have built successful careers in the private sector and federal government, which pushed Chuck to follow a similar path. With much of the hip hop world heavily infatuated with the lifestyles of the wealthy, Chuck says he is not here to try to change this ideal. Rather he actually enjoys portraying a wealthy lifestyle differentiating himself from other artists by the means which he achieves wealth. He says he wants to try to achieve the impossible feat of making it cool to have a regular job and remind people that you can be just as wealthy as an entertainer in the business world.
