After listening to Same Trailer Different Park, Kacey Musgraves' first album for Mercury Records, it’s clear she has something to say. You’d never know that from her lyrics that she's just 24 years old - these songs seem written by someone who has seen dozens more birthdays – and nursed at least that many broken hearts.
Kacey grew up in Golden, Texas, a town of 600 about 80 miles east of Dallas that Kacey admits is “kind of out in the middle of nowhere.” Music came naturally to Kacey, who started writing songs as a child and did the regional opry circuit. She moved to Austin, TX before relocating to Nashville, where she signed her first publishing deal. She went on a writing retreat with some of her favorite co-writers to a retreat in Strawn, TX, where they crafted the top 10 hit "Merry Go 'Round." Kacey co-wrote every song on the album and co-produced with Luke Laird and Shane McAnally.
In 2013, Kacey will hit the road to promote Same Trailer Different Park, first as a special guest on Little Big Town’s “The Tornado Tour,” and then as an opener on Kenny Chesney’s “No Shoes Nation” tour this spring and summer.
